It's been about 2 weeks of the rice cereal now, and I'm amazed at how fast Kai is learning. It only took him a couple of days to figure out how to eat from a spoon and another day or two to LOVE this cereal. No more scrunchy face from the taste. In fact, now he opens his mouth in wait for the next spoonful and bangs on his tray if he wants more and it's not coming fast enough.
We're up to almost 2 tablespoons twice a day. And he's doing great with texture now too, eating cereal that's more like porridge and less like straight liquid. We may move on to pureed veggies soon. The plan is to make my own baby food - it's so much healthier for Kai and the cost savings doesn't hurt either.
