Dear Kyler,
They say that you don’t know love until you have a baby and there’s no way anyone can explain the feeling to you. They are right.
I love your dad so much and I love my family and friends, but it was totally different when I met you. I waited 9 long months and 24 long hours of labour to meet you and it was totally worth it.
I told your dad that I don’t usually think babies are that cute – they’re wrinkly and their faces are all scrunched up, but their parents always say they’re cute anyway. I guess I’m one of those parents now too because I think you’re the most beautiful thing in the world.
Now you’re home and I love seeing you in your room and amongst all the toys and clothes we prepared for you. You already fit so perfectly here.
Being a parent definitely isn’t easy. I feel like I don’t know what I’m doing a lot of the time. When you cry, I just want to fix it and it’s frustrating when I don’t know how. But God brought you to us and I know that He believes in your dad and I and I believe in us too.
Seeing you for the first time was amazing and I melt every time you fall asleep on my chest, but I think my favourite moment so far happened yesterday. You opened your big blue eyes and looked straight into my eyes – it was so beautiful and shocking that it took my breath away.
I’m so glad that you’re finally here and I already love you more than you’ll know.
Love,
Mom
There is nothing like the love you have for your child. When you have your second you'll wonder if there's room in your heart to love someone as much as you love your first child. There absolutely is. Your heart will somehow just grow. Treasure this first year. Its magical!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!
