The Life of Kai: Shower #2!

Just a week after the first, Rosalyn threw me another baby shower that included friends from LIFE and church, along with some family. Rosalyn is a planner like me and loves entertaining and she was in full form for this shower!

The theme was an elegant shower and everyone was asked to wear black and white with an accent of either pink or blue depending on if they think I'm having a boy or girl. Rozz borrowed decorations from her sister's wedding business and decked the whole place out in damasque with white candelabra's and diamond candle holders. Very classy.

There was also a whole spread of Crystal-friendly food like spin dip, fruit, veggies, bruschetta and delicious non-alcoholic mimosas.

As everyone arrived there was a white tree in the front hall and some cards for everyone to write wishes on, which I got to take home later. We all chatted and snacked for a bit before the games began.

The first game was tough. We had to match a type of animal to it's family name. ie. Wolf goes with pack. But that was the only one I knew for sure. I definitely had no idea that monkeys came in tribes and emus came in mobs. I think I got 4 out of 12 and we got clues for 3 of them. Mel won the game and got to choose between a night in, a night out and home decor. She chose the night in and got a basket with The Princess Bride DVD, some popcorn and candy.

The next game was a group game that had the teams bedazzling and decorating a two-piece pj set for me to judge. I was really impressed with what they came up with. Both teams ended up putting Go Stars on their outfits...too bad AJ wasn't the judge.

Next, Rozz put together a baby Family Feud game and the teams went head to head with my team coming out on top of course!

Rosalyn also made an incredible cake that matched the theme and tasted delicious!

Then it was time for gifts! Once again, I was totally spoiled. Interestingly, the gifts were quite different from my first shower, where I received a lot of more practical feeding and bathing items. This time I got lots of clothes and blankets which was great since we didn't have any yet.

Time just flew by and it ended up being after 9:30 by the time people left - with a little loot bag of fun to send them on their way.
